What is your photography style?
For a better description, please see my style + philosophy description on my about page, but, in sum, I shoot with a lifestyle/documentary style for the most part, but will also capture posed shots that are always good to have.
What kind of gear do you use?
I like to keep it simple. I use a Sony a7R IV with a variety of lenses (typically with my GM 35mm f/1.4 lens). I do have a ring light and external flash for special circumstances, but as much as I can I go where the good light is. I also love playing around with creative items like prisms and copper rings!
What image format do you shoot in?
I shoot in RAW. If you’re not a photographer, all you need to know is that shooting in RAW vs. JPEG allows me to wait to compress your images until they’re finalized after edits, meaning you get the highest quality version of your photos possible.
Do you send the RAW format photos?
No. For your ease of use and to save space on your hard drive, I only send you the finalized JPEG version.
How will my images be delivered?
Your images will be accessible through Pixieset; you’ll get an email/message with instructions on how to access and download your photos.
Do you Photoshop the images you send?
I am a firm believer that you are absolutely beautiful exactly as you are, and that the world deserves to be captured in a true-to-life, authentic way. However, I am also realistic in wanting to keep the focus on the most important part of the image.
For example, if you and your love are super adorable, dancing in the streets, but there’s a pesky telephone pole cutting into the image taking the focus from you, I might Photoshop it. Likewise, if you have a boudoir session and you have a hair cut straight across your face, I’ll edit it. While I try to leave moles, freckles, scars, stretch-marks, cellulite, and other elements that are a part of YOU, I do want you to love your photos, so I’ll edit them according to your direction. I have a lot of practice retouching my own photos, so if you do want it, I will assure it looks natural, or I simply won’t do it.
How long does it take to deliver a session?
It varies depending on the time of year and how many clients I am currently serving, as well as the number of photos I am delivering to you/them. My average is three-four weeks for regular sessions and eight-twelve weeks for elopements. Typically, I get obsessed with you and start editing photos the day after / first free day I have, but if you get married, it may take a little longer to edit all of those great images!
How many images do you send?
This is established by the package you select. The number indicated in the session package is a minimum (and I never count black and white versions as an image—yes, I have had that happen to me by other photographers!). For a regular session, I typically deliver 50 or more images. I’ve had one-hour sessions where I end up sending off 200 photos. I honestly just believe in offering you everything I can. I’d rather send you too many photos and have you decide your faves than narrow out amazing photos needlessly.
What rights do I have to the digital images?
Legally, all images are the copyright of FALCON & PINE, however, these are your photos, your moments—and I want them to belong to you as much as possible. This means, while you cannot sell images or claim them as your own, you are able to post them to your accounts, print them (for personal use only), and share them with friends and family. I always appreciate a shout out on social media, but it is not required, and my logo doesn’t need to be on your photos. You can crop them, or turn them black and white. Just make sure you’re honest with others in what I’m offering. For example, if you put a heavy filter on my version, make sure when you post, you either don’t tag me, or say “Photo taken by @falconandpine and [BLANK] filter applied.”
What if I lose my images?
If you lose your images, you can follow that link back to your images until you receive an email from me saying your photos are about to expire (this happens when I run out of Pixieset storage). If you lose your images after this time, you can send me an email, as I keep your files on my hard drive for that very reason.
Do you use an image backup?
Yes! If your session hasn't been delivered yet, I keep a backup on my memory card, in my Lightroom library, and on an external hard drive. Once your photos are delivered, I store all of my photos on Microsoft OneDrive (an online service, so even if something happens to my computer, once your images are uploaded and stored, they can be accessed by any computer I use), as well as on that external hard drive.
How far do you travel? What does it cost?
I am located in the Southern New Hampshire / Western Massachusetts area (Nashua, NH). I typically provide service to the surrounding areas free of charge. I also spend time in Central Maine, and offer free travel if planned around dates I already intend to be there. I am willing to travel anywhere outside of those regions for an added cost. Travel is assessed on a case-by-case basis, but typically involves the client being responsible for the cost of gas/train/flight required. But I do offer travel discounts to places on my bucket list!
How do I book a session with you?
You're on the right page! Simply scroll up and send me a message. That is the #1 best way to reach me.
Is there an additional fee if I go overtime on my session?
It depends. If we ever go over on time because we lose track, or we just HAVE to get that shot, I’ll never charge you for it. However, if we go overtime due to the client being more than 15 minutes late with no communication, the session will either be ended early, or I’ll have to charge additional fees. The key is communication! I’m always happy to reschedule or delay within reason if not already scheduled elsewhere.
What payment methods do you accept? Is there an additional fee for credit card payments?
I currently accept cash and credit card payments. I do not charge additional fees for credit cards.
Do I lose my deposit if I cancel my session?
All deposits are non-refundable, but may be transferable; however, this is up to my discretion. If you cancel your session with ample warning (more than one week in advance for standard sessions, two months for elopements), I may offer to transfer your deposit to a new session date up to ONE time, provided I have availability and can reschedule.
